Props Project
The props project was where I was tasked to recreate a prop from the play my theatre group was doing, "Skeleton Stories." We were given a reference picture and had to choose one to remake.
I ended up choosing a food called elote, a grilled Mexican street food. Elote is corn on the cob charred on a grill and covered in mayo sauce and chili powder. I based my recreation off the reference picture. I used clay and used paper to mold the clay into the corn shape. I rolled out small pieces of clay for the stick and waited for it dry before adding circular bottoms to the end of it. It's completely hollow inside the elote. I then covered it with styrofoam to recreate the mayo. ​

There are many things I would do differently about this project, first of all being research. I completely based my prop on the reference picture when I should've done research. If I had, I could've made a much more accurate prop. I was also pretty clueless with the entire thing and I rushed through it near the end. You can even still see the hot glue, and you can tell it was done messily.
