Lighting Project
The lighting project was one I did with a partner. We first had to choose a song and then plan a light show based on that song. My partner and I chose Love Story by Taylor Swift.
The first thing my partner and I did was create a very elaborate story that we imagined when listening to the song. This made it much easer for us to plan the light show as we had something concrete to work off. The story began with two girls meeting (a princess and a future knight). The lights show the girls playing around until the end of the first chorus, where the knight left without notifying the princess. We then showcased the two characters growing up separately in the second verse and chorus. Finally they meet up again and there is a scene where the knight proposes to the princess. ​

The lighting project seemed very intimidating to me at first, as I had no prior experience with the light board. Technology also scares me at first, but the lighting project consisted of repetition so I caught on fairly quickly. I was very glad that I did this project with a partner because there was no possible way I could've finished the entire song the way I did. I think learning completely new things are best done with a partner, as I definitely would've been discouraged if I had done this project alone. I think I'm honestly more confident with the light board than I am with the sound board.
